MEDEL Hearpeers – Webinar on 1st November 2023 @ 6pm

D/deaf Accessible Event at the British Library

The British Library, in Euston Road, London (NW1 2DB) is holding a FREE drop in event entitled Family Day: Our World.  This will be held on: Saturday, 23rd September 2023 from 12:00 - 16:00 An exciting family day - suitable for all ages, celebrating community, languages, nature and travel.  The event will feature London Zoo, Maths on Toast and Oregami as well as other activities and opportunities. Is music an option for Cochlear Implant users?

USAIS patients will often ask whether they will be able to enjoy music after their operation.  USAIS' Dr Mary Grasmeder did develop a music programme to support patients with their hearing development and enjoyment of life and hosted training sessions around this.  You can read more about this here. BSL Exhibition Tour – John Hansard Gallery

On 15th April 2023 there will be a BSL tour of David Blandy's Atomic Light Exhibition.  The tour guide will be Martin Glover, a British Sign Language user. Atomic Light tells the story of David Blandy's grandfather, a World War II prisoner of War, who believed that the atomic bombing of Hiroshima saved his life.  The exhibition allows visitors to explore this haunting question.
