New Car Parking Spaces

USAIS has been able to secure additional parking spaces.  These are only a few metres from the ramped access to Building 19 - where the clinic is based.  They are available on a "first come first serve basis" and cannot be reserved. The five spaces outside Building 28 are still available and dedicated to USAIS Patients.  There are, therefore, now two additional parking spaces and one disabled parking space, bringing the total number of spaces to eight. USAIS Service during University Closure Days

Warning: Road closure at University of Southampton Highfield

Drivers please note that on Friday 10th April, the normal entrance along University Road to the Library/USAIS side of  the campus will change.   This will be for one day only. If you normally enter the site from University Road, you will need to find the new temporary entrance further along the road, alongside building 41.  Once on the University Campus, drive straight ahead (do not turn right). Sign Language App for South West Trains

An app immediately translating train announcements into British Sign Language has been launched. South Western Railway is trialling Signapse, which uses AI generated images to deliver information to deaf passengers. The trial is currently running on services between Basingstoke, London, Salisbury and Exeter, with hopes to extend the initiative. Developers hope the app will make train journeys less stressful and plans to introduce the app in all public places. Continue reading →
