What does a cochlear implant sound like?
It is not possible to say for sure what a cochlear implant will sound like. Also, it will differ from person to person. Simulations can be made of the processing, but it is very hard to simulate the effects of a damaged inner ear.
However, a good website to play around with simulations is from Angel de la Torre at University of Granada, Spain. If you download the program, you can make simulations of your own sounds (.wav files) or even record your own voice.
