Short Visits

We are delighted to offer short clinical visits and work experience placements at USAIS

Clinical visits

Clinical visits are suitable for professionals and trainees who are working with or have a professional interest in cochlear implants. Typically these visits are taken up by audiologists, speech and language therapists and teachers of the deaf. Clinical visits can be either 1 or 2 days and are free of charge.

During the visits there may be the opportunity to observe the following:

  • Cochlear implant assessment
  • Cochlear implant tuning appointments
  • Rehabilitation appointments
  • Medical appointments

We cannot guarantee observation of all these appointment types in one visit due to the time constraints, but will endeavour to meet learning outcomes where possible.

Work experience

Work experience placements are available for 1 – 3 days and are open to students aged 16 years or older. There may be the possibility to observe patient clinics and also undertake administrative duties as part of the placement.

*Please give 3 date options for when you would be available to visit. Due to the scheduling of our clinic diary, we may not be able to confirm dates until one month prior to your projected visit.
